about

Civil Serpents Sydney, Australia

Hatched in 2014, Civil Serpents introduced a unique blues-rock sound to audiences around Sydney. In 2015, the band independently produced and released their first single; I Met My Baby In A Haze. A high energy rock track designed to be played loud. The B-side is a 12 bar original where Matt's blues influences are made clear over the steady groove laid down by Boris and Jonathan.

Track Name: I Met My Baby In A Haze
met my baby
in a haze
not yet seen her
by light of day
but she knows me
in a personal way
and she holds me now
to make sure i'll stay

bright moon heavy
promises made
you keep me steady
i'll keep you safe
but it sounds like
you want it another way
you're alone now girl
i've been unsteady all day

met my baby in a haze
i've not seen her
by light of day
but it sounds like
you want it another way
you're alone now girl
i've been unsteady all day
Track Name: Freight Train
well, freight train
going by my house
if you got no ticket
you gotta jump aboard now

oh, red cloud babe
on a blue day's sky
if you give me a minute
i'll give you a reason why

well, freight train
going by my house
if i didn't know any better
i'd let you take me somewhere else
